Balayong People’s Park now on its 50% completion

Puerto Princesa’s upcoming and newest destination is now in full swing as it reaches 50% completion, the Balayong People’s Park project is the most modern park in Palawan with 70% open space covering the Government center and portion of Ramon V. Mitra Sports Complex in Brgy. Sta. Monica.

Balayong People’s Park is develop under the leadership of Mayor Lucilo Bayron with a total budget of P1.2 Billion in total, it is funded partially by different entities such as P16 Million is coming from Department of Budget and Management, P80 Million from USAID, and another P80 million as part of the City Government.

Among the amenities and services that Balayong People’s Park will have are watch tower, rotunda, interactive water park, zip line, skate park, parking building, theatre, shrines, commercial centers and many others. At present the park have 400 Balayong trees and 535 tree endemic species.

According to City Architect Ezhra Miguel, the Bayron administration wish to finish the project by year 2022, they already request the assistance of the City Council to file a resolution to certify and honor the project for purpose of continuation in case there is a change of leadership in the future.

The park has a total of 62.45 hectares of land in all, and will have its own park management office to assure it will be handled well and maintain the park.
