Since the pandemic started, thousands of Filipinos have relied on crowdfunding to help them meet their needs, especially with medical expenses brought about by contracting this virus. 80% of the projects were medical-related, more than 15% are community food programs and the rest are other related covid19 projects.

With the current fear of the COVID19 delta virus spreading fast, many more will be expected to turn to crowdfunding for funding help. It was reported that as of today, the Delta variant has infected more than 100 Filipinos and the spread of fear has reached thousands if not millions of Filipinos. With the current economic situation of the Philippines, many lack the necessary funds to help them get by let alone the cost of treatment spares them from this dilemma.

Many crowdfunding platforms are available across the globe, however, many of which are not available in the Philippines. Not even the world’s biggest crowdfunding platform that helped millions of people get funding is not yet available here in the Philippines. But not to fear, as Kiheitai Inc., a Tokyo-based digital company that owns the crowdfunding site called Airfunding is here to help everyone by everyone. In its 3 years of operations, Airfunding has helped close to a million people around the world get funding for medical and other personal or community needs. In the Philippines alone, Airfunding has helped over 30,000 Filipinos raise funds for any cause especially in this time of pandemic where people need financial assistance to pay for their medical, business, community, or even personal needs. To date, approximately $400,000 in support has been generated on Airfunding through more than 30,000 projects in the Philippines since it started in May 2018.

The most successful project to date is from Glen and Melissa Atienzo, of the Philippines who raised almost Php 300,000 to help pay for a liver transplant for Melissa’s husband who was diagnosed with end-stage liver cirrhosis. Another project who has garnered a relevant amount of support is a project from Anette Rose Ajos who raised Php 39,584.35 to help pay for her pre-mature-born baby’s daily medical expenses. Airfunding  is a global donation-type crowdfunding platform that allows people not only to open projects but also to donate and to share on Social Media Networks so other people can help by donating.

Airfunding is a fundraising platform that specializes in small-scale projects made by individuals, groups, or local NGOs, for a personal cause, community initiative, an event, or just anything that needs funding. It is a keep-it-all crowdfunding platform, so project owners keep the entire amount collected even if the target has not been met.

Why keep-it-all platform? ” We believe that even a small amount of money would be a real help to project owners. That is why we decided to make a keep-it-all platform. Our business model relies on tips from the supporter. It’s essentially just a commission but, when you support a project you can choose to tip a percentage of the amount.” – says Ryosuke Abe, CEO of Co-Founder of Kiheitai Inc., the parent group for Airfunding.

Crowdfunding with a Heart

Airfunding as a global company focuses not only on business endeavors but also engages in many humanitarian activities since 2020 where they have actively participated in disaster relief operations, medical missions, and COVID-19 prevention activities across the entire Philippines. Just recently, Airfunding has distributed thousands of Face Masks and Face Shields across Cebu City, Talisay City, the rest of Cebu province, Baguio, Pampanga, Zambales, Bicol, and other cities as an effort to help Filipinos combat the spread of the virus.

With the current world situation, where many people are in dire need of support, Airfunding has bridged the gap of barriers so that everyone can help everyone. Now people can seek help and provide support to almost anyone in the world.

There is help beyond borders and barriers, Airfunding has over 10,000,000 supporters around the world and can be accessed in 200+ countries. Airfunding is free to use, anyone can register and start creating projects in less than 5 minutes.
