To support her advocacy on promoting the preservation of the Philippines’ rich and diverse culture and arts, Bb. Pilipinas 2019 2nd runner-up Samantha Mae Bernardo will stage a dance concert, fashion show, and an exhibit of her Bb. Pilipinas attires at SM City Puerto Princesa.

From November 18 to 24, the Palaweña beauty will present an exhibit featuring her Bb. Pilipinas 2019 National Costume by world-renowned designer Patrick Isorena and her iconic Evening Gown by celebrated designer Paolo Blanco.

“More than the magnificent landscapes and scenic tourist spots of [Palawan], the exhibit aims to encourage Palaweños to continue on showcasing the beauty of a homegrown Palaweño and to be proud of our individuality,” said Bernardo in a Facebook post.

The exhibit will also showcase Accessories by Ornate Manila – ôr’nāt of Adam Rico De Guzman and Evening gown high heels by Jefferson Si, all styled by Kenneth Ramil Ytturalde.

“Start curating your Instagram feed goals and take photos at Sam’s display of amazing Filipino creations. Visit the exhibit to learn more about Sam and the stories that inspired her dresses,” said Amanda Jaurigue, marketing manager of SM City Puerto Princesa.

SALINLAHI

Complementing her cultural advocacy is Sam’s goal to raise funds for Kilusan Ligtas Malaria (Philippine Movement against Malaria) thru a cultural dance celebration and a colorful Philippine Fashion parade on November 23, 7PM at the Lower Ground Level of SM City Puerto Princesa near SM Appliance.

“My vision is to uplift our culture and educate young people about our heritage through folk dances that went on from generation to generation,” said Bernardo, who claims to be a culture and arts advocate.

The dance concert will feature the Sining Palawan Dance Troupe of Palawan State University, while the fashion show will present talents from Elitistas Circle of Models.

“I want to spread more about awareness for malaria control and elimination and hopefully we can achieve a Malaria-free Philippines by 2030,” the 27-year old beauty queen said.

Sam has worked with various charities and is active in the campaign to eradicate malaria in Palawan. She claimed that this advocacy is something very close to her heart. (PR)
