There are some fantastic festivals coming up in Brisbane over the next few months, celebrating great food and wine, the performing arts, film, farming and agriculture, and more.

Tastes of Moreton Bay, Brisbane Good Food & Wine Show, Royal Queensland Show, Brisbane Festival, Brisbane Music Trails, Undercover Artist Festival, and Brisbane International Film Festival are among them.

Love a good concert or musical? Iconic 1980s music group Culture Club is playing in town, as is MAMMA MIA! The Musical for a limited season.

And with flights to Brisbane available from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, it’s all on your doorstep!

Tastes of Moreton Bay Festival
September 1 – October 1

Where culinary delights collide with the picturesque landscapes of the stunning Moreton Bay Region – Tastes of Moreton Bay is a month-long extravaganza of tantalizing tastes, where farmers and producers join forces with talented venues and chefs to create a feast like no other.

MAMMA MIA! The Musical
Now until 24 September
at Lyric Theatre, Queensland Performing Arts Centre

Featuring 22 of ABBA’s greatest hits including Gimme Gimme Gimme, Voulez Vous, Dancing Queen, S.O.S and Take A Chance On Me, MAMMA MIA! The Musical is coming back to Brisbane for a strictly limited season. One of the iconic stage productions of our time, it has wowed over 65 million people around the world.

Performances are Wednesday 1pm and 7.30pm, Thursday 7.30pm, Friday 7.30pm, Saturday 2pm and 7.30pm, Sunday 1pm and 6.30pm. Tickets range from $69-$190 depending on chosen performance, and can be purchased at www.mammamiathemusical.com.au/tickets/brisbane/.

Brisbane Festival 2023
1 – 23 September

Brisbane Festival is Brisbane’s biggest cultural event, and in 2023 the event promises an amazing 23-day, city-wide celebration of music, theatre, and art performances. The blockbuster programme includes over 1,000 performances in arts venues, cathedrals, warehouses, suburban parks, and iconic city locations. These range from world-premiere theatre and dance, family fun and community gatherings to late night cabaret and live music. Marking the opening of the festival, Riverfire promises spectacular fireworks show on 2 September.

Brisbane Music Trails
September 1 – 23

There’s never been a better time to travel to Brisbane with Sweet Relief!, Brisbane Festival and BIGSOUND all gearing to set the tone for an unforgettable music adventure this spring.

Culture Club with Special Guest Berlin
14 September
at Brisbane Entertainment Centre

Iconic 1980s music group and Grammy Award winners with over 50 million album sales worldwide and #1 singles in over a dozen countries, Culture Club will play Brisbane on its Greatest Hits Tour celebrating 40 years of music. It promises to be a great night with show-stopping classics and generation-defining favourites like Do You Really Want To Hurt Me, Time (Clock of the Heart), and Karma Chameleon. Supporting Culture Club will be synth-electro pop pioneers Berlin, performing their hits like Take My Breath Away, Dancing in Berlin, and No More Words.

Tickets are available through Ticketek, ranging from $101.75 for a Bronze Reserve ticket to $195.50 for a Gold Reserve Floor + Souvenir Ticket.
Packages are $299 for the VIP Ultimate Fan Package, $499.90 for the VIP Cocktail Party package, and $699.90 for the VIP Meet & Greet and Cocktail Party package.

Undercover Artist Festival
20 – 23 September
at Queensland Theatre

A biannual festival held in conjunction with the Brisbane Festival, the Undercover Artist Festival headlines artists with disabilities and gives them centrestage to perform. The event was formed in 2015 by Access Arts, and features performances across the music, dance, theatre, comedy, poetry, circus, and creative genres. The lineup of performers and artists for the 2023 festival is expected to be announced within July.

2023 Brisbane Good Food & Wine Show
27 – 29 October
at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre

Much as its name suggests, the Good Food & Wine Show is a fantastic event for food and wine lovers. Visitors can wander through the show sampling from hundreds of stalls, chatting to winemakers and distillers, be entertained by well-known chefs as they demonstrate delicious recipes, learn how to pair wine and cheese and other skills at masterclasses, shop for the freshest seasonal foods from artisan producers, and more.

The 2023 Brisbane Good Food & Wine Show is open Friday and Saturday 27-28 October 9am-5pm, and Sunday 29 October 10am-5pm.

General Admission tickets start from $35, Cheese Lovers ticket (new in 2023) is $65, Wine Lovers ticket $75, Gin Lovers ticket is $75, VIP ticket is $130. Children (aged 7-12) are $15 – under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Groups of 6 or more people are $30 pp.

Brisbane International Film Festival (BIFF) 2023
26 October – 5 November
at cinemas and venues across Brisbane

The Brisbane International Film Festival (BIFF) this year celebrates its 29th edition, having been established in 1992 and welcoming more than 600,000 festival goers since then. Each year the event brings film lovers and screen industry professionals together, for a showcase of fantastic international cinema and world-class Australian and independent films.
