Under their Circle of Happiness program, Project Wish Tree was launched by JCI Puerto Princesa Oil at SM City Puerto Princesa enjoining mallgoers and partner agencies to grant wishes of their beneficiaries.

Wish lists of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) from the City Jail, Provincial Jail, and Iwahig Prison as well as the blind and virtually impaired community in Palawan are posted at the lower ground level of SM City Puerto Princesa.

“We enjoin everyone to be secret Santas and help us grant some of the posted wishes of our brothers and sisters who are PDLs or Persons Deserving Love,” said Russell Fernandez, 2023 Local President of JCI Puerto Princesa Oil.

Some wishes are new shoes, shirts, groceries, and food.

According to Fernandez, the said activity aims to help their partner communities in their journey towards aiming for a renewed and reformed life and that any support will definitely help them in advancing this project’s objectives.

JCI Puerto Princesa Oil is one of the local members of a worldwide federation that provides development opportunities empowering young people to create positive change.  They are one of the local chapters that believe in reaching out to the local community to make sustainable impact through various programs and activities.

Project Wish Tree will be at SM City Puerto Princesa until January 8, 2023.

This initiative is in partnership with SM City Puerto Princesa, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Puerto Princesa City Jail Management, Palawan Provincial Jail Management, Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm, and PalaWonderful Sensory Experience.
