Hispanic Society of America | Washington Heights, Manhattan | NEW!
The Hispanic Society Museum & Library reopened the doors of its Main Building after six years of renovations and infrastructural improvements. Since 1904, the museum has been the home to over 750,000 objects including rare books and masterpieces from Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries.
50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop | Citywide | 2023/2024
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of hip-hop music, founded in the Bronx on August 11, 1973, when Clive Campbell–better known as DJ Kool Herc–spun records at his sister’s birthday party. Throughout the year, the City will celebrate with a lineup of soon-to-be announced events celebrating hip-hop.

After undergoing a physical and programmatic expansion, the Armstrong Corona Campus, formerly known as the Louis Armstrong House, will debut a new cultural center with an interactive exhibit, archival collections, a 75-seat performance venue and store, all dedicated to celebrating and preserving the life and legacy of the legendary jazz musician Louis Armstrong.

Primark, the popular affordable Irish fashion company, is set to open its fourth location in New York City at the Queens Center Mall this year. This opening follows Primark’s recent expansion in the New York metro area, with stores located on Jamaica Avenue in Queens and City Point in Brooklyn.
New York City’s economic recovery continued in 2022 with over 56 million travelers arriving in the City—a 72.5% increase over 2021. This activity marks the return of 85% of the City’s record 2019 visitation levels. The City remains on track to welcome 63.3 million visitors in 2023.
