Woopis To Stage Last Show, For Now

Palawan’s home-grown rock band Woopis is set to have one last show together this coming March 31 at Stellar Grounds event hall. The show is billed “Last Hooray for now” will be the band last gig this summer season before band leader and vocalist Soy Lanzanas move to Australia this April.

According to Soy, he is set to study and work at the same time but they are not dismantling the band, he promise a online jam or reunion will still takes place once in a while, as well as producing new songs will continue for Woopis.

Last Hooray for now will mark a special show for Woopis, this will be their 15th year anniversary show for their fans and supporters, expect a reunion of their founding members and current players in one stage.

Tickets for the show is P150 and a special dinner package is also offered by their major sponsors, the Weng’s Wings.

Line up of guest bands are Walwal, Wateber, Watching Scenes, Rylodia, Raptured Faith, Sibuyas Jam, Kulitos Kiddus and High Note. The following bands according to Woopis are their closest and with them for many years.

Woopis made headlines after being hailed as champion in Pambansang Muziklaban in 2018, they are behind the songs Hangober, Giniling, Konteng Sandali and the local hit “Puerto Princesa Iba ka Talaga”.

The band founding and current members includes Soy Lanzanas (vocals, guitars), Jacob Carlos (guitars, vocals), Jiboy Betita (bass), Toting Peñaflor (drums), Ike Bernadino (keyboard), Verdandi Tagapulot (drums) and Jerwin Pascua (bass).

Show start at 7 in the evening, Last Hooray For now is produce by 429 Studio and Weng’s Wings, sponsors include Banlaw Pool and Garden, San Miguel Brewery, inc, Emperador Brandy, Stellar Grounds, San Gabriel Printing Services, Dylan Tattoo, Uno Adventures, Ara Pilak and Paragua Clothing line.
